How to Brew: The Perfect Turkish Coffee

June 01, 2019

Let’s talk about Turkish coffee – it has an incredibly bold flavor because it’s not filtered. This rich brewing method may be quite different than the others, however, it is likely among the simplest to learn – you’ll just need a few tools, including a sieve.

Step 1

Your coffee will need to be ground extremely fine, about the consistency of flour. We recommend a medium blend and today are using Sit & Stay.

Step 2

Pour about a cup of water into your sieve.

Step 3 (optional)

If you would prefer your coffee black, that’s great, but we like it with a little bit of sugar. If you’d like to add a touch of sweetness, throw in 1 teaspoon per every cup of water.

Step 4

Pour your ground coffee into the sieve – 1 tablespoon per every 3 ounces of water.

Step 5

Take your sieve and place it on the stove over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes. Once it starts to heat up, give it a stir and be sure to take it off the stove before it overflows.

Step 6

Take the sieve off of the heat and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Give your pup a few head scratches while all the grinds settle to the bottom.

Step 7

Grab a small spoon and scoop up the foam at the top of the sieve. Place the foam in the bottom of your favorite mug before pouring in your coffee. Remember, this is a strong flavor profile so we recommend a serving size of about six ounces.

Sip. Smile. Enjoy or yudum, gülümse, keyfini çıkar
