What began as a two-man job quickly grew into a team of over 100 volunteers all with the same mission in mind – “save the lives of animals in danger while enriching the lives of people.” Founded in 2009 by pilots and longtime friends, Brad Childs and Jonathan Plesset, PAART (Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team) has steered some incredible rescue missions, including hoarding cases, saving pups from dog fighting, natural disasters and aiding overcrowded shelters.

While Pittsburgh is their home, PAART’s reach expands from Texas to Florida and all the way up to the East Coast. They work with several large-scale organizations including, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and North Shore Animal League America.
