As much as we love Independence Day, the July 4th holiday also results in the highest shelter intake wave of the year. The barrage of fireworks and outdoor activities leads to a high number of runaway dogs. As a result, on July 5th shelters can become overwhelmed with lost lost pups.
To make sure there is space for these lost dogs, we want to encourage you to help clear the shelters for the upcoming holiday. If you’re able to foster a pup, even if it’s just for a few days, you will be providing valuable space for the lost pups.
The more space we can provide, the more time rescue groups will have to reunite these dogs with their families!
Have a happy and safe July 4th and thank you, as always, for helping us change the world for every pup.
Celebrate Christmas in July with Grounds & Hounds! Every year around Christmas, Grounds & Hounds donates 10,000 dog toys to rescues and shelters across the country. It's one of our favorite programs, as it offers needed enrichment for pups waiting for their forever homes.
One bag of Rescue Roast = one week of pet meals. That's the amazing impact of this month's Rescue Roast Partnership with The Anti-Cruelty Society, based in Chicago IL. Through their Pop-Up Pet Food Pantry, this incredible group has been serving up meals and supplies for pet owners in need since March of 2020.
This is our second time running the Rescue Roast program with Marley's Mutts, so we wanted to sit down with Zach and find out a little more about their incredible programs. Diving deeper into Pawsitive Change, we found out that the program is expanding in some pretty incredible ways.
