Happy August 1st and Happy DOGust! At Grounds & Hounds, DOGust is a very special day (and one of our favorite holidays!). 

DOGust is the universal day to celebrate shelter dog’s birthdays, and we’re celebrating all day (and month!) long.

We stopped by Wags n Walks to join in on the festivities with the dogs there who are waiting for their forever homes. And, while DOGust has a cute name and is a fun idea, it’s truly very important to us here at Grounds & Hounds and to many rescue dog owners. A lot of rescue dog owners don’t know when their pup was born, and August 1st is the day that we celebrate rescue birthdays.

So, be it A Gotcha Day or DOGust, we support and are all about any day that provides a fun and memorable occasion to make all rescues feel extra loved. 

 We brought delicious pup-friendly treats, squeaky toys, and lots of belly rubs to Wags n Walks. We encourage you to stop by your local shelter and to do the same. These visits are the highlight of many of these pup’s time at the shelter, as they await their own Gotcha Days. Make their day, and you’ll be in for a treat yourself. We had so much fun seeing the joy on all of the puppy faces, and we know you will as well.
