Making Tails Wag for National Coffee Day!

September 29, 2021 1 min read

It's National Coffee Day and, at Grounds & Hounds, we do things a little bit differently. For us, coffee and dogs are inextricably intertwined. We can't start our morning without both by our side. So, we're not just celebrating coffee today. We're celebrating dogs, too.

To get the day started right, we decided to make a quick donation to NKLA based in Los Angeles. We reached out beforehand to see what they needed and they told us they're always in need of treats, harnesses and plush dog todays. So that's exactly what we're bringing... as well as some coffee and swag for the staff.

We had a blast at NKLA and hope we made the day of every dog their waiting for a home. If you're interested in making a donation like this, it's easy. Simply reach out to your favorite local shelter and see what they need. Monetary donations are always great, but you'd be surprised at some of the things a shelter could use today!

While this space is not going to shelter the dogs, (the amazing foster homes will still be taking care of that), it will support the foster families while the dogs are in their care.

This amazing group focuses on the "underdogs" of the rescue world. Bully breeds with special needs. Unfortunately, the truth is that bully breeds or even dogs that are misidentified as pit bulls spend more time in the shelter than their counterparts of other breeds. The situation is even more dire for pit bulls with special needs, such as medical or behavioral issues.
