Rescue Roast Coffee Feature: Flying Puerto Rican Pups to Safety
November 08, 20231 min read
Three Percent. That is the survival rate of a shelter dog in Puerto Rico. It’s a grim fate for a “Sato,” the name commonly used to refer to homeless dogs in Puerto Rico and astonishingly, there are estimated to be as many as 500,000 of these Sato pups.
These pups are often cast aside due to circumstances well beyond their control, and never have the chance to experience a loving family. Thankfully, our latest Rescue Roast partner, The Sato Project, is on a mission to change the fortunes of these overlooked pups and they’ve been doing it for a heck of a long time.
For the past 10 years, this incredible organization has provided funding for medical treatment on the island and has transported thousands of Satos to loving families waiting to give them a forever home. But it’s not all plane tickets for dogs. The Sato project also works tirelessly to stop the creation of more homeless animals on the island by providing free spay and neuter services.
Through November 30th, 100% of all profits from the sale of our Rescue Roast coffeewill be used to fund the transfer of these Satos to folks just waiting to give them hugs and snuggles and most importantly a forever home back on the mainland. We hope you’ll join us in supporting this amazing organization throughout the holiday season and provide a second chance for pups in need
The holiday season is a time for love, family, and comfort. Unfortunately, countless pups must spend the holidays alone in the shelter simply waiting for the perfect family to give them a second chance.
To help provide comfort and love to pups waiting to be saved, we're providing as many blankets as possible to our shelter partners coast to coast. For every blanket sold this season, we're donating a blanket to a rescue pup waiting on a forever family.
To celebrate National Pit Bull Awareness Month, through October 31st, 100% of the profits from Rescue Roast will benefit Los Angeles based, I Stand With My Pack and their incredible Bully Booster program.
