Rescue Roast Coffee Feature: Players For Pits Foster Resource Center

Every year an estimated 3.3 million pups enter shelters in the U.S. Of those, 670,000 are euthanized, partially due to a lack of resources.

Our current Rescue Roast partner, Players for Pits is working to change this harsh reality through incredible rescue and foster efforts. This Spring they are opening their brand-new Foster Resource Center. 

Players For Pits is hoping the FRC becomes a place of community for their fosters, and those who are looking to support their rescue. While this space is not going to shelter the dogs, (the amazing foster homes will still be taking care of that), it will support the foster families while the dogs are in their care.

They see the Foster Resource Center being:

• A place for foster families to get the supplies they need for their dogs like food, toys, and beds, etc.
• A place that foster families can bring their dogs for enrichment, such as agility equipment, if they do not have a yard or a space to play
• A place for adopters to meet their dogs, do meet and greets with their dogs, and sign the adoption contracts to complete their families
• A place to host events to raise money to support their medical and supply funds
• A place for the community to come and see what they are doing, as well as support through donations and merchandise purchases
• A place for their team to gather, host meetings and make sure that their rescue runs smoothly

They are working to create a comfortable, safe space for the community they are hoping to continue to build through their advocacy and adoptions. They have not had a space for our volunteers and fosters to call home, and this space is finally making that possible!
