Coffee Guide: Alpha Blend Dark Roast
For The Dark Roast Lover
From the very first day that Grounds & Hounds Coffee hit the market, Alpha Blend Dark Roast has led the pack as our most popular blend. Prior to our launch, in the spring of 2014, dark roasts had seemingly fallen out of favor with the specialty coffee drinker, and with good reason. After years of subpar dark roasts hitting the market, people were fed up with of taking a sip of coffee, only to be met with the dreaded burnt, bitter finish. So, we set out to change that perception…
Taking inspiration from our favorite European French Roasts (and a few our favorite stout beers…) we set out on a mission to create the perfect dark roast. To begin, we blend a composition consisting of three, 100% Fair Trade Organic, growing regions in Latin America and Indonesia. Alpha Blend is comprised of beans grown in Sumatra, Colombia, and Guatemala. We then roast each batch of Alpha until the perfect amount of oil begins to appear on the surface.

Suggested Brewing Methods
Alpha is one of our most versatile coffees, and can be enjoyed in almost all brewing methods available. With that in mind, here are a few of our personal favorites:
• French Press

• Drip/Pour Over
• Cold Brew
We highly recommend improving any serving coffee by adding a pup to your side. There’s no better way to start the morning that with peace, quiet, and belly rubs!
