  • Ep. 3: Dog People with Zach Skow

    April 11, 2023 1 min read 6 Comments

It's an incredible story of redemption. And all made possible by one special pup.

For this episode of Dog People, Jordan sits down with the incredible Zach Skow. Zach is the founder of Marley's Mutts, a rescue organization based in Tehachapi, CA. Though he's now living a dream that a lot of us share, running a ranch full of rescue animals, his life's journey wasn't a straight path here.

Zach had to battle through addiction to drugs and alcohol. Liver failure. Run-ins with the law. On the precipice of giving up, it was his rescue pup Marley who saved his life and gave him direction. Saving pups saved Zach, so he knew he had to devote his life to it. And so Marley's Mutts was born.

Marley's Mutts is now a successful rescue organization with programs spanning beyond just finding homes for animals. Marley's Mutts mission includes saving people, too. The group has developed innovative programs like "Pawsitive Change," a rehabilitation program that pairs pups in need with California prison inmates for a 14-week training program.

Support Pawsitive Change, Marley's Mutts, and Zach's mission with every purchase of Rescue Roast through May 15th!

Nothing but love to you and the crew. Do you have visits to the ranch? This is my dream life to do and be around what you love.

Thank you Zach for all you do for dogs. When I was young I had heart problems and suffered from being “different” with kids making fun of me. I had a wonderful dog named spot. He helped me through some of my sad times with his unconditional love. I now rescue only old sick pups. I have also donated to Marleys Mutts as I think it’s a wonderful organization. God Bless you.

Summer has a flavor. It tastes like cold brew on a hot morning. Like sunscreen and lake water. Like beach towels in the backseat, sandy paws, campfire smoke, and late sunsets with your favorite people (and dogs) nearby.
