    Happy Earth Day from us at Grounds & Hounds Coffee Co.! Other than being the only planet with dogs and coffee, we love nothing more than exploring nature with our sidekicks by our side. This Earth Day, we’ve rounded up five of our favorite pup-friendly trails to help you find your next adventure! 

    1. Whiteoak Canyon to Cedar Run Loop

    Explore a roaring river, lush greenery and plenty of wildlife, at Whiteoak Canyon trail. Known for its beautiful waterfalls, this trail is perfect for dog owners looking to enjoy the abundance of nature in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. 

     

    2. Mount Baldy Beach Trail

    (Michigan City, Indiana)

    Mount Baldy Beach Trail, is home of the world's largest Lakeshore Dunes. You can explore the beach, picnicking, swimming and paddling: And bring your furry friend to hike along the trail for a breathtaking scenic stroll.

     

    3. Great head Trail

    Whether you're into camping, hiking, or kayaking, the Great Head trail has it all. Check out the panoramic views of Maine's coast overlooking Mount Desert Island and Frenchman Bay.  You may not have enough time to explore every corner, but even a glimpse will last a lifetime.

     

    4. Alkali Flat trail

    (Holloman AFB, NM)

    Looking for spectacular dunes and incredible mountain views?  Look no further than the Alkali Flat trail, known for its glistening white sand dunes.  Also, dogs are welcome to explore the extremely rare gypsum sand dunes.

     

    5. Grandstaff Canyon Trail

    (Moab, Utah)

    The Grandstaff Canyon Trail has outstanding desert scenery with different terrain: mud, sand, loose rock and plenty of creeks for your dogs to cool off.  At the end of the path, is the 6th longest natural rock span in the U.S, a 243-foot red rock arch!
