Welcome back to our series, “How to Brew”!
A quick history lesson before we get started, the Siphon coffee method was invented in the 1840s by a French housewife and her husband, a Scottish engineer. While it has been refined several times, this method produces a delicate and delicious cup of coffee and without a doubt, is probably one of the coolest ways to impress friends & family.
Step 1
First thing’s first, knowing the parts of your Siphon. You have your upper chamber, the lower chamber and your filter. Place your filter into the upper chamber to get started.
Step 2
Pour your water into the lower chamber. Remember 2 tablespoons per 1 cup.
Step 3
Turn on the gas and let your water come to a boil.
Step 4
Grab your upper chamber and put it loosely into place.
Step 5
Add in your coffee – medium grind. We recommend our Paper & Slippers
Step 6
Take a wooden spoon and stir your coffee.
Step 7
Place the cap one and wait for about a minute and a half
Step 8
Turn off your heat, give it one final stir and wait as it drops into the lower chamber.
Step 9
Once complete, remove the upper chamber and use the lower chamber to pour your coffee
That’s it! Sip. Smile. Enjoy.
See you next time on “How to Brew”!

Summer has a flavor. It tastes like cold brew on a hot morning. Like sunscreen and lake water. Like beach towels in the backseat, sandy paws, campfire smoke, and late sunsets with your favorite people (and dogs) nearby.

Others are overlooked, labeled, or left behind.
At Grounds & Hounds Coffee Co., we believe those are the dogs who need us most.
That’s why we’re proud to partner with Forgotten, Now Family Rescue as our Rescue Roast beneficiary from May 1 through June 15—a rescue known for stepping in when others can’t.
For this limited time, 100% of Rescue Roast profits will go directly toward their lifesaving work.
