Whatever your traditions may be, we think the most important part of St. Patrick's Day is starting the morning with the perfect blend of bold coffee and a splash of strong whiskey. To help you get the party going, we have put together our favorite recipe of the iconic Irish coffee!
1 ½ ounces of Irish Whiskey (Tullamore DEW is our personal choice)
½ tablespoon of maple syrup
1 ounce of heavy cream (optional)
2 ounces of whipped cream
Nutmeg for garnish (optional)
1). Brew a strong cup of Grounds & Hounds Alpha Blend. We recommend using the French Press method for a more robust and rich coffee base. Also, the dark roast of Alpha Blend will pair perfectly with the savory Irish Coffee ingredients.
2). Grab a mug that speaks to the occasion and add one ounce of your favorite Irish Whiskey
3). Then, to add a touch of sweetness to the drink, add in ½ tablespoon of maple syrup and one ounce of heavy cream
4). Next, fill your mug with the fresh brewed Alpha Blend coffee, stopping about 1 inch short of the cup's brim.
5). Finally, top off your Irish coffee with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle nutmeg to garnish.
We hope you all have a lucky St. Patrick's Day, one full of surprises, great food, hardy laughs and of course, a morning coffee cocktail to match. If you're feeling particularly festive all year round, our "Luck of the Dog" tee might be just what you're looking for. Cheers!
The holiday season is a time for love, family, and comfort. Unfortunately, countless pups must spend the holidays alone in the shelter simply waiting for the perfect family to give them a second chance.
Three Percent. That is the survival rate of a shelter dog in Puerto Rico. It’s a grim fate for a “Sato,” the name commonly used to refer to homeless dogs in Puerto Rico and astonishingly, there are estimated to be as many as 500,000 of these Sato pups.
To help provide comfort and love to pups waiting to be saved, we're providing as many blankets as possible to our shelter partners coast to coast. For every blanket sold this season, we're donating a blanket to a rescue pup waiting on a forever family.
