  • How to Make a Cortado

    November 24, 2020 1 min read

If you're in the mood for a cappuccino with a bolder flavor, the cortado might be your best bet. With a higher coffee to milk ratio, the cortado provides the perfect balance between an espresso and a cappuccino. Skip the trip to the cafe and make the perfect cortado in your kitchen with these steps:

    1. Brew 2 oz of espresso (double shot)

    2. Steam 4 oz of whole milk.

    3. Pour steamed milk and foam into the espresso.

The cortado is a Spanish brew very similar to a cappuccino, only using less milk. As a result, the flavor of the espresso shot shines through a little stronger. Its name roughly translates to "cut" as the espresso shot is cut (or diluted) with steamed milk.

To make a perfect cortado, you'll need the perfect espresso. Pick up a bag of Two Tails Espresso roast to ensure a delicious espresso shot. For a full range of coffees to explore, be sure to visit our coffee collection and find the perfect blend and roast for every occasion
